May 6, 2021 - Like some of the other recent reviews, I too was worried that this was a bit over the hill but found that was absolutely not the case. The wine has a beautifully aged medium/light red brick color, showing both life and maturity at the same time. Nose is all secondary elements at this point: tobacco, cedar, with perhaps some dark fruits lurking in the background. Tannins, though clearly on the downslope, are still present, a very nice surprise that nicely elongated the finish. Elements of blue fruit, charcoal and cigar smoke round it out nicely. I'd say that it's approaching the end of it's ideal drinking window, but in fairness, some other drinkers thought that 5 years ago. Also worth noting that at current release prices (~$100) it offers relatively good value among California equivalent offerings.
January 5, 2021 - Rummaging through the gift bin and worried I’d let this go too long. Nope. A wine for grown-ups who prefer balance. Enjoy.

June 5, 2020 - Bereits nach dem Öffnen sofort präsent. Tiefes dunkles Rot vereint Fruchtnoten von Heidelbeeren, Schwarzkirsche und Waldfrüchte. Leder, etwas Kaffee und schöne Erdaromen begleiten einen schönen Abgang.

December 22, 2018 - Well integrated... nice nose with cherry notes and rich blue fruits; palate was similar with a little leather and earthiness on the finish. Tannins were fine grained... a little "dusty". Overall very enjoyable.

July 15, 2018 - This silky beauty is in a very good place right now, a wonderfully smooth and expressive vervet fog of a dar k cassis and milk chocolate covered cherries. Really beautiful oak integration,with a creamy and sweet cedar mid palate and such soft tannins. It's got some laser sharp focus right, and with a subtle acidity the finish is long and expressive. I think it has several good years ahead of it, but it's so nice right now I wouldn't wait to find out if it can.
November 14, 2017 - So sad, my final bottle, and p'n'p at a restaurant. No real breathing time. A great wine, might even be worth another point...
