May 21, 2023 - My last bottle of Luna Cab, no more since the winery was purchased. Solid Cab, but not remarkable.

January 13, 2023 - Inky, dark fruit, anise, tar and drying tannins represent- POP. Dark fruit jam but not sweet, and black licorice pops in and the color is black purple btw. I'm at the end of a cold- so no high or low notes on nose, just taste notes. BIG and will revise tomorrow. That being said, more jammy than my jam, but I like it.
Still no nose, because of the cold. Inky, dark fruit, tar, unsweetened jam and dry.
Really good not disappointed, not 100 my style. BUT nothing I don't like about it, Score jumps for me if it contained an acidity and a tannic bite. Well worth a 90 for sure regardless.

November 25, 2022 - This Luna is a real bargain but after the 2007 Montelena last night any subtle weaknesses were more easily exposed. Smooth black fruited with telltale Oakville anise and tar.

Firm and balanced with just a little heat on the nose. My second bottle either showing brash and needing some time, a bit of bottle variation, or just not up to last night's bottle.

    Still delicious.

January 23, 2022 - Quite good. Tasted alongside a 2013 Salvestrin, which was slightly better

November 15, 2021 - Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of bell pepper, blackberry, black currant, violet, tobacco, and hints of vanilla. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium+ body, medium intensity, 14.1% abv, with developing flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, tobacco, and bell pepper with a medium+ finish. Overall a very good wine excelling in complexity, balance, and finish - seems a little thinner than a typical Napa cabernet (which really isn't a such bad thing).

October 29, 2021 - Decent middle of the road cabernet, a bit high in acidity. Tannins are a bit high and it will improve in 2-3 years time.

May 15, 2021 - A great wine, a great vintage! This will definitely continue to benefit from some time...but it's also very drinkable now. Just the right amount of oak presence on the nose, behind the velvety ripe berries; profile continues on the palate and has a medium finish. Definitely one of the better finds from my Underground Cellar purchases...

April 3, 2021 - Worried that this blend of Atlas and Oakville fruit would be a bit young, I gave it a pretty good swirl in the decanter before letting it rest for 2 hours. No sediment whatsoever in bottle.

In the glass this is a pretty 100% CS, but just slightly lacking the color concentration that I expected. 4

Any lack of color concentration did not show on nosing. Decadent, complex and concentrated are the exact words that come to mind. Nearly perfect. 14

Satisfying is the first word that comes to mind when you finally taste this wine. Dry fruit balanced against a melange of Napa flavors. At 5 years and $30, I didn't expect a wine quite like this. 2016 is showing as a year of power in Napa. At least that's what this Luna tells me. 17

Drink or hold. Buy this if you find any examples from the modest 384 case production anywhere in the wild. This QPR is far superior to anything you might find at the local Kroger for $30. The only downside I see with drinking this now is that you'll run out of it faster! 9

September 28, 2020 - Pleasantly surprised by this. This was pretty straightforward but everything was in the right place and showing well, some good sweet fruit, good structure and balance. Ready to drink now, but will improve further.
