March 24, 2024 - Maybe not as integrated to merit Dunnuck’s 97 IMO but above Galloni’s 80. A bit hard to rate but still enjoyable given some flaws
February 15, 2024 - Concentrated, big and highly aromatic exuding blackberry compote, blueberry, vanilla and plum. Full bodied, medium acidity and well integrated tannins. Long flavory heated finish. NI:5, FI:23, FC:8, B:3, L:5
February 3, 2024 - This Bevan’17 tasted a lot better than what I had year ago. So much energy and bursts of ripe, roasted red and black fruits, barrel spices, orange dark chocolate, graphite and new leather. Nice acidity and chewy tannins on long finish.
We enjoyed this for lunch at Patty O’s - nice cafe/bakery opened by The Inn Chef.
January 12, 2024 - Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.
Beautiful nose with lots of chocolates and light earth notes.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, dried figs, raisins, licorice, light earth, peppercorn, cola, spices and dark chocolates.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and crushed peppercorn.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Big and bold. Spicy and tangy. Showing nice complexity at this point.
This 6 year old is drinking beautifully now. Rich yet elegant. Extracted and easy drinking. Well balanced and really delicious.
A beautiful surprise. I had the 2016 a few years ago, and this is drinking much better now. I did not expect it from the 2017 vintage.
Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Robert Parker 93 points.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
15.2% alcohol by volume.
94 points.
$110.
December 9, 2023 - Big, bold, but balanced, juicy without being extracted. Took about an hour and a half in decanter to wake up but paired well with a bold tomahawk steak.
Enjoyed with a friend at Hall's Chophouse in Greenville.
December 2, 2023 - Wonderful structure and body
November 12, 2023 - Big modern Napa cab that will appeal. Ok, but not terribly interesting or complex. Seemed a touch heavy, and a bit of out of balance.
August 26, 2023 - Tailgating before a Springsteen concert, so this was a PNP. Really good, with a lot of power and energy. Would probably benefit from a 90 minute decant or a few more years in the cellar.
June 22, 2023 - Nose of blackberry, blue fruits, and lavender. Rich thick palate of blueberry and blueberry syrup with black cherry, dried, mint, and thyme. Finish shows vanilla, sweet black fruit, old oak, and a touch of cedar. Modern, full-bodied and drinking well.
May 7, 2023 - Method: Pop and pour and over several hours; started at cellar temp; Cab glass
Didn't take notes, but this was a very polished, low structure, fuller bodied wine with red fruit notes with a bit of graphite/shaved pencil. Very easy drinking and tasty, but otherwise unremarkable as it lacks complexity and structure. I think it lost some concentration and worsened a bit since I had it 2 years ago. Scratches that big Napa red wine itch, but very boring. Still, if you're looking for a big, polished, modern red wine, it's a very good to pretty great wine.
