October 16, 2021 - Dark garnet in color, very dense. Earthy nose with red fruit-plums. Fruit seems to have receeded but dense complex earth, leather, plum and other dark fruits. Sweet in flavor.

November 3, 2020 - Hint of blackberry licorice but cleary past prime. It appears that all of the 'Marquis" wines were made to drink early and not to cellar

November 1, 2020 - 16% alcohol; imported by Grapes International, Calistoga, California; screw top; fast legs, dark purple; nose of alcohol, citrus, stone fruit, especially sweet/sour cherries and peaches/nectarines; vinturied and tasted right afterwards at room temperature, 25 degrees C; FULL bodied, almost syrupy, lots of sweet/sour cherries, white chocolate, honey, muscat raisins; subdued tannins, as one would expect after 14 years of cellaring, moderate layering and complexity, some earth in the background; somehow the sweet component doesn't quite fit (I noticed traces of this in the nose as well), it's almost as if a little granulated sugar had been sprinkled into the mix in the barrel, which makes it more of an elegant sangria and not a real cab; the sweetness, mixed with a little counter-sweetness, or bitterness, persists into the finish; pair with afternoon Dutch/German Apfeltorte

May 11, 2019 - Bought a case at auction for a very good price and it is still drinking great. Decant for 2 hours and enjoy. Hard to believe

January 15, 2016 - still a little sharp and rough around the edges, slightly pungent with the sulfur. Sweet and punchy

December 18, 2015 - a little bit alcoholic, sweet on the palate. Almost a little oaky on the nose. Very easy to drink.

July 15, 2015 - Great with food; coffee and cinnamon(coffee cake?). Funny storage story though. Removed this wine from the wine fridge last Summer BECAUSE the reviews clearly stated that this wine has "turned/ gone bad/ was crap" and stored in my houses closet. Recently moved to our very hot garage for these last few weeks, ouch! Decided to try anyway with little hope! It was surprisingly AWESOME! Drink now or cellar properly(1-4 more years)but it is another great Molly Dooker wine.

January 29, 2013 - This wine was very good in 2009 and 2010, but now it has really aged into a well-balanced beautiful cab!

September 17, 2012 - Started out as a fruit bomb, but as it breathed, the fruit mellowed and the subtle flavors came forward. Baking spices, cedarbox, and tobacco wrapper. Round and full in the mouth, the flavors last and last. Delicious!
