January 8, 2022 - Notes of Blackberry, dark prunes, current liquor, licorice, almond wood , & spicy acidity. From the bottle: still tight, closed, and not very varietal. A mouth full of Dark fruits .chalky tannins, solid and persistent , as it takes and hour+ to begin to open up. Will take the advice to decant and aeration next time, broke a decanter a few weeks ago… if not for the 10 year old Barbaresco waiting in the antique decanter I would have. A bit riper and higher in ACL
Than most Barberas, hiding its varietal nature. Medium + and packed for additional aging.

July 13, 2021 - Second bottle I tried. Thick and darkly saturated fruit up front with little structure other then an acid bite in the finish. I decant half hour and not enough. Tried in glass after an hour and still not changed. Store bottles another year (to 2022).

May 4, 2021 - Deep dark purplish red in appearance with a young fruity nose of refreshing sweet yet slightly sour red fruits, which exudes a sense of youthful spontaneity and carefree spirit. The palate is on the fuller end of the medium-bodied spectrum, lean yet muscular, clean, rich, flavorful, with lots going on, a very inviting wine with an interesting an very fun and easy going personality. There seems to be some residual fine tannins that is presently still unresolved and plenty of alcoholic heat which in my opinion way too much for it's weight class (14.5%). Phenomenologically speaking - it showcases a very interesting continual vacillating interplay that is presently going on between its mildly savory and bitter profiles which makes this a very intriguing young wine to taste at this juncture. The flavor components in the Barbera includes red fruits like sour cherries, pomegranates, strawberry preserves and red currants, with a very tiny splash of Campari, some rich earthy overtones, with slight wood and sweet vanilla notes towards the finish. An interesting and well made wine that is in its youthful stage. Its exceedly fun to drink now but promises much more as it matures.

March 29, 2021 - Cedar and jammy nose. Plum, cherry and oak palate. Full bodied. Vanilla dry down, tannins prominent. Acidity suggests it will go a couple more years. Very enjoyable.

March 24, 2021 - A very solid Barbera. Bright fruit and acidity with a light palate weight. Food flexible. Great by the glass at a restaurant or with a Tuesday dinner.

February 21, 2021 - This is a solid Barbera, not quite the level of the 2016, but splendid, nonetheless!

January 2, 2021 - Inky black. Aromatics of blackcurrant, prune, black plum, Chinese medicine. On the palate, this shows moderate tannin, med plus acidity, bone dry. Lots of bright dark fruits. Some spices such as cinnamon and clove. Cedary oak framing the finish. 87.

November 11, 2020 - Drinking wonderfully now after 20 mins of air. The fruit gives it enough acidity to balance the food friendly tannins.
