December 13, 2008 - This wine was a shocker -- based on the other reviews and the 1999 I was not expecting much -- but this well outperformed expectaions. It was earthy with mountain berries -- it was a perfect match with a prime MY Strip.

October 28, 2007 - 10/07 Dark ruby color - light/medium-bodied - cherry red fruit - leather tobacco structured 3/4 finish - anise and spice - simple straightfoward - off-balanced on the back. 87 pts. After 2-3 hours the wine opened up - became more balanced - the finish evolved to a chocolate coffee layered quality - it needs decanting to bring out its best - raised the point value. 89 pts.

April 15, 2007 - Medium ruby color leads to a nose of saddle leather and cherry. The body continues the cherry while adding currant, leather and a hint of cedar. The finish is somewhat clipped. This wine is fully mature and quite enjoyable but not special. Both the 2001 and 2002 vintages kill this offering.
