Community Tasting Notes 4

  • MicklethePickle Does not like this wine:

September 16, 2021 - Opened last night. Medium ruby. Distinctly stinky nose on this, not sure what it is. Didn't notice it right off, but "WHEW" now. Didn't show last night either, but something is wrong here. Not rated.

September 13, 2021 - Worked well with jalapeño spice with rosemary, shiitake and king Trumpet mushrooms, and Tamari soy sauce.

August 26, 2021 - One of the most intriguing bouquets I've come across, some sort of a feminine, sophisticated Indian incense. The palate then draws on a slightly different cord that hints of native yeast and perfectly ripened grapes. Medium+ bodied. 13% ABV.
(For what it's worth, my one issue is with the shape of the bottle, which seems to have a penchant for sliding through your fingers.)

August 6, 2021 - Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, pale ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity, youthful aromas of cherry, pomegranate, tomato leaf, dill, lavender, and brush. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium- tannin, medium alcohol (13.0% abv), medium+ intensity, flavors of tomato leaf, slightly under ripe cherry, and pomegranate with a medium+ finish. Sneaky good wine showing exceptional balance with good complexity and intensity. Can drink now, though likely better in 2-3 years and up to 5 years thereafter.
