April 5, 2020 - Enjoyable - hits on the front to mid-palate and lingers nicely. Seem to be pretty typical for a 2017. Potential for improvement over the next few years with cellar time.

April 3, 2020 - I'm not getting the hollow-ness that others speak of. This bottle has pretty heady wood tones, but a brown-sugar warmth and nice depth of black and cassis fruit with dark bitter cocoa. Woody tannins need some time to really subside, and yes, even this wine will benefit from a year in the cellar. But for my money, it's a very good Napa level cabernet, regardless of vintage. Hard to complain

March 31, 2020 - Rich but restrained. Minerality and bit of spice after decant... controlled tannins and a nice but not overly complex finish.
Overall, this is a good wine to drink to give the 2016's a bit more time.

March 30, 2020 - I think the overall ratings are probably right on the money here - vacillated between 91 and 92 for me; on PnP I was decidedly unimpressed, the fruit wasn't soft, acid overtook the finish and I was a bit saddened. Day 2 is the right time to drink - The nose presents with a bit of rubber licorice in the presence of tart blackberry (as below); the palate softened up a bit, definitely has a touch of spice, herb, as well as some tarter side of blackberry. The finish becomes more apparent and the wine comes together - this could certainly be vintage, but I have a feeling it will be much better in another year or two. That being said - although in previous years the NV has piqued my interest in the portfolio, in 2017 it doesn't stand up to the single-vineyard designates. Still a fan of Myriad and a great welcoming to the bigger NV cabs for the uninitiated.

March 13, 2020 - Poured into a decanter and had the first glass straight away. The nose was closed but hints of strawberry rhubarb pulled thru. After only 15-20 a nice floral bouquet opened out. On the palette I pick up the fruit but it’s well masked and balanced by herbal tones. Some toasted almonds and the oak is poking thru.
