October 1, 2023 - Drinking nicely. Lovely nose, good balance, decent finish and just fruity enough for my taste. Should be fine for a few years but I'll happily reach for another in the near term.

June 10, 2023 - Really interesting wine, dark fruit, licorice and pepper. Nice balance of tannins and acid. Great with grilled meats and cheeses. Very nice wine.

January 27, 2023 - Deep, opaque ruby in the glass. Intense aromas of blackberry pie with a whiff of bacon fat, crushed olives and lilac. The wine has fresh acidity and mouth-coating, fuzzy tannins, a little heat on the backend. Lingering finish of dark fruits and licorice. Almost port-like.

Did it go well with filet mignon? It did. Oh, yes, it did.

June 6, 2022 - Just a great wine. I never make it to cellaring as I need to drink what I like. Fruit juicy. A wee better on day 2. Still drinking it.

September 22, 2021 - Too young currently. Shows a lot of potential with blueberries and black peppers, but tannins are too harsh and unintegrated

April 21, 2020 - Who am i to argue: 92 PTS Jeb Dunnuck - April 2020. The single vineyard 2017 Syrah Estate Seven Hills Vineyard is a step up in quality as well as price. Fermented with 20% stems and aged in 40% new oak, its deep purple color is followed by a beautiful bouquet of ripe blueberry fruits, ground pepper, smoked game, and subtle violet nuances. Rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, and with nicely integrated acidity, you can drink bottles today or cellar them for upwards of a decade.
