Community Tasting Notes 2

March 5, 2020 - Charleston Food & Wine Festival IV (for us... XV for the rest I think); 3/5/2020-3/8/2020 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): I'm not a Chard drinker and this is the style that I struggle the most with. Feels like the grapes were likely very ripe when picked and then tons of oak and it just creates a bit more salivation almost to counterbalance and just not that enjoyable. It was however enjoyed by some of the folks at the tasting so it is back to wine being very personal.

November 23, 2019 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (T&L's): Double blind. Clay, spice and white fruit/apple aromas. Pretty. Apple and spice on the palate. At first this seemed chardonnay-like but not quite chardonnay so I was thinking chenin from South Africa. After some time in the glass the spice and acidity was more pronounced, and it seemed more Chablis-like than anything else. My favorite of the warm ups.
