  August 23, 2022 - Two bottles @ Boom + Batten in Victoria BC. Both decanted for primary aeration and removal of any early sediment. Similar bouquets and ready to please on the first pour. This ain’t Dominus nor Les Pavots. It’s a well-balanced, large production Sonoma Cab Sauv that has versatility and pleasure at its core. Paired well with everything from Thai Curry Mussels, Roast Rack of Lamb and Steak Frites. Thanks JM.

  June 25, 2022 - This is yummy goodness sourced from the Mayacamas above Alexander Valley. We had a great visit at the winery (named after Jess Stonestreet Jackson) about a decade ago and I still remember their fantastic rose garden. I took this over to our friends' house to pair with their dinner of ribs, baked beans, and ceasar salad. I hadn't had a Stonestreet wine in probably 5 years, and I was a little worried it would have a lot of oak on it based on a review I read. Accordingly, I opened it 3 hours beforehand and gave it a double decant. It did have some oak, but it was restrained and the tannins were smooth. The result was a delicious wine that paired well with dinner and stood up to the BBQ sauce on the ribs. I do agree, however, with the other note that opined that this wine isn't really built for long-term aging.

  December 1, 2021 - Slow ox for an hour and consumed over the following two. Well balanced, approachable, mid-weight, not overwhelming or "big." What I have come to expect from quality Alexander Valley cabernet. Some complexity. Not sure this is made for long-term cellaring as the acid and tannic structure are somewhat muted. Certainly was enjoyable though!

  September 13, 2021 - Not overly complex but very good. Dark cherry color with a mild dusty short finish. Stonestreet had made a wonderful chardonnay in the past but there are better Cabernet values out there.
