November 16, 2023 - Dried cork. Weak wine.

June 4, 2023 - Earlier bottle was consumed too young, acids had not settled. This bottle was just now ready to drink. Seductive nose of dark plum. Fruit-forward, with black currants, undertones of dark-roast coffee and a long finish.

May 22, 2023 - This is my 3rd time to try this wine. I’m officially a fan now. This had been decanted about 6 hours prior, which did it favors, but it’s still in the camp with Cerbaiona and Biondi Santi in a very structured, tall and muscular version of BdM with high acidity that’s intended to age glacially. This bottle was absolutely delicious with the air it had received. My WOTD

    March 10, 2023 - Medium ruby color
Nose of leather, earth, and orange
    Cherry, orange peal and tea.
    Strong acidity and high tannins
Medium-plus bodied wine. Very pleasant experience.

My second Tuscan Brunello. I think I like Brunello.

February 10, 2023 - Full bodied, modern styling, 2in/51mm excellent quality cork. A wine to be put away and forgotten for at least a decade (2035?) - so tannic and oaky today; on day two and three other notes peek out a little, still overpowered by tannins.

What is there is solid BdM but not worth the sticker price yet - autumn tones, dark cherry, leather, black coffee. In my experience these have higher than average in-bottle development and variation. Mid/late-2000s Vals are banging right now, sticking to those. 90-92 today, expecting 94-95 in 2030s.
