August 10, 2017 - A nice lightly aged barolo. Nothing special but nice combination of red fruit and earthy tones. I am slightly concerned about the previous storage of these bottles as this is the second bottle of this that has had a very dry cork and pulled through in the middle. required a few extra steps to ensure no one was drinking cork

March 12, 2017 - 1 of 4 bottles that I have. Cork was soaked halfway but broke and pulled through in the middle which had me a bit nervous. Was able to extract most of the cork and filtered out rest while pouring into decanter. Wine was in perfect shape and definitely needed an hour in the decanter. Lots of red fruit and a pleasant earthy finish. Great color with no bricking. Excellent value at sub $50 and should hold on well for 5+ years

September 24, 2016 - Decanted for half an hour. Great viscosity. Leather, earth, rosebotlles, roses. Whatever, still a great performance for this entry level wine of Boroli. Chapeaux.

December 29, 2013 - Popped and poured. Brick red color. The nose was rustic and showed a mix of rasberries, mushrooms and tar. On the palate, drying tannins, but not to austere. Medium bodies. Again, rustic in a very good way. A very nice bottle of wine and was a steal for the price. No need to rush to open this bottle, but it fit the menu for the evening and I suspected we weren't opening it too early either.

September 3, 2012 - This was decanted for about 2 hours. The wine is a nice dark ruby color, considerably lighter at the rim and just a hint of bricking. Black cherries, berries, tar, rose petals, baking spices, and a very slight herbal note on the very elegant nose. The wine is medium body with velvety tannins and very nice acidity. This is very civilized on the palate for a youngish Barolo, nice fruit and spice and just a touch of spicy oak pop out in front with some earthiness in the background. The wine has decent length on the finish which is still a touch ragged with some excess oak and herbal notes popping out. Give this another year or two in the cellar and drink it over the following several years. Even today this is outstanding with some upside potential.

March 31, 2012 - Opened and let stand in the bottle for about an hour. Nice bricking on the edge, earthy aroma. Nice balance with spice and earth-tone taste; fruit is there, but settled into the background. Really needed a proper decant as the wine started to open up about 30 minutes after pouring. Can easily go another five years in the cellar, but not necessary.
