February 11, 2019 - Cherry fruit, iron, florals, meatiness, undergrowth, porcini, and moss on the nose. There is a little herbal greeness, but certainly less than my last bottle. Mid weighted with good balance, reasonable sap and with good length. It has nice mix of savory and earthy tones complemented by the redder side of pinot fruit and well balanced acidity. Overall, very good with nice texture and lift. This is not terribly memorable, but well made wine that is not suffering too much from the Green meanies in this bottle. This held up well overnight o the next evening.

    October 13, 2017 - 6/6. Excellent cork.
Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale garnet edging mahogany rim.
Developed, aromatic, autumnal nose, touch of fig, rich soil, mushroom, liquorice.
Medium/full bodied, autumnal red fruit, soft tannins - really refined for the vintage, quite rich and full but with nice contrasting fresh acidity, savoury game notes on the harmonious good length finish.
Delicious, ready, probably at its peak but not going to fall apart that quickly either. An excellent 04 villages.

August 23, 2015 - Pale garnet core, wide pale mahogany rim. Touch of sulphur at first, but quickly blowing off to show a mainly red fruited nose, though with some underlying darker fruit, liquorice, lots of spice, touch of game. Salty. Medium bodied, this has decent volume and depth for the year and also refined, soft tannins, smoky, savoury red fruits, fresh acids, touch of white pepper on the good length finish. Very good indeed and still going strong.

March 7, 2015 - Very nice complex nose - more premier cru than village. Nice notes of turmeric ( I get this in Gevrey for some reason ) blackberry, raspberry with a medium light intensity. Very nuanced and complex. A bit of reduction but slight and opens up after a few minutes. On taste nice bright fruit but with a light feel and crisp acidity. Vintage is light so it is true to the vintage. A nice medium finish. Tannins are still there at the front and this has some primary aspect to it. Could use a few more years in the cellar.
This is what I love about wine. Is this the best vintage of this Gevrey - probably not. I love that it is not and I still appreciate its nuance and what the land gave for this year. Really wonderful - I really like Ponsot at this point.

October 23, 2013 - Nose shows red cherry, some darker fruit as it warms, game and notes of liquorice. Medium bodied, fine, rounded tannins, spicy black cherry fruit, game and meaty notes, lovely fresh acidity, notes of liquorice emerging on the good length finish. This remains very good indeed, drinking well but no hurry. Held up very well the next night.
