November 13, 2020 - When fine Pinot Noir speaks German: Spätburgunder with Anne Krebiehl MW (67@Home Zoom Tasting): From red sandstone soils on very steep slopes. Quite a stylish nose, floral with violets and cherry and a touch of smoke. elegant and crisp palate, real drive and energy, good depth of cherry fruit, a little spice and smoke all integrated beautifully, lovely acidity and a very long finish, cracking wine, then I saw the price, and it should be good at that level.

November 13, 2020 - When fine Pinot Noir speaks German: Spätburgunder with Anne Krebiehl MW (Zoom!): From the Schlossberg in the Klingenberg area on the Main river. On a red, crumbly sandstone which demands lots of work from the viticulteur but can generate very fine-boned wines – another world-class terroir.

Darker in colour than wines #1-4 tonight, and darker in tone on the nose and palate as well; there’s a dusky quality to it. Incredibly long perfumed finish. An extreme combination of depth of flavour and lightness of touch, although the framing tannins are a welcome part of the experience too. My WOTN.

    July 20, 2020 - clear pale ruby

    Cola, black plum, ripe blackcurrant
    Woody, spicy
    Not very distinct fruit
Edit: After awhile in the glass, dark chocolate

    Riper on palate than nose
    Med+ alcohol - a bit unbalanced
    Med+ acid
    Med+ body
    Med finish
    Med tannins

    Good but a bit unbalanced...

November 10, 2019 - Impressions from "Perspektive Wein" fair (Wagenhallen, Stuttgart): *** brief notes for my own memory from tasting sip. No rating ***
    Glas: Stölzle white wine
Cool nose, red fruit. On the palate also rather cool fruit, oak, toasting notes, good length. Top notch German Pinot. 91-92+
