Community Tasting Notes 5

October 31, 2020 - putting my nose in this wine and the first thing it reminds me of is a Chardonnay de Limoux. Clearly and dominant vanilla notes combined with ripe yellow fruits. Tastewise the same, rich vanilla dominates, good acidity and yellow fruits. Completely different than what I expected from this Burgundy, hoped for some more lactic/buttery notes, minerals etc. Not a bad wine, definitely not, the well preserved freshness differentiates it from your regular wooded chardonnay but it lacked for me the regular Burgundy characteristics.
Edit-day2: Completely different balgame. The oak monster went back into the barrel and the wine is far more harmonious. White fruits and minerals are there combined creaminess.

March 28, 2020 - Vif avec une belle matière. Belle finale. Fort calibre pour un régional.

February 20, 2020 - 2017 Domaine des Terres de Velle Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc was buttery, fruity and balanced. The youthful Chardonnay was clear and pale lemon in colour, with intense aromatics of brioche, buttered popcorn and vanilla, complemented with tree fruit notes of pears and quince. The mouthfeel was dry and medium-full bodied. The buttery malolactic elements and the toasty oak were balanced by medium-high level of acidity, green apples and starfruit in a medium finish.
The wine was tasted blind in BIVB-supported Masterclass, and it was voted the favourite white wine of the evening among the participants. The price was reported to be EUR 8.70.

November 12, 2019 - De belle fraicheur, fruité avenant, c’est équilibré et d’une belle pureté, bien sec en finale. Superbe vin pour le prix. 89 pts
