January 2, 2017 - Magnum shared with family friends, served alongside enormous rib of beef. Colour is now mature brick red, gentle nose that is fully evolved but not tired, palate took a couple of hours to develop, tannins have now melted away and left a lovely sweet core of pretty fruit. Classic mature claret, not overly 'big' but utterly delicious.
The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cedar. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

August 14, 2012 - Pale ruby, slightly dull. Fuller than expected, but delicate. Muted nose, dry edge in the mouth, but still blackcurrant and tobacco leaf on the finish. Past it's best.

December 29, 2009 - Going down hill; however, there is something in the palate that you can imaging how good can this wine be in it prime day. Drink up now.

April 6, 2003 - Good colour and structure. Some cassis and cedar on nose. Decent, good finish, still has a few years.

May 3, 1994 - 7 St. Julien Bordeaux from the 1980s include 3 from 1982 (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Dull, cherry color in the glass, cherry fruit and cigar box on the nose, simple, fruity taste, some good acid, long finish with hint of soft tannins. My #7 and Group #7.
