February 6, 2024 - Although still showing well, it’s beginning to loose some of its youthful vigor and appeal. It seems this wine has reached its peak? 92 points

September 2, 2023 - Opened, poured an dlet sit about 45 min. Then, some darkish fruit on the nose. Taste is darkish-redish fruit with just a hint of sweetness, but is almost pushed into the background by the heat (14.5% alc) on the finish. Tannins and acidity not an issue; softish mouthfeel. Towards the end of the glass the heat is barely noticeable and the fruit seems more reddish, still that touch of sweetness, but fairly monotone. By the end of the glass this is fairly tasty, but I seem to be missing the various flavors found by others. Maybe some bottle variation. I don't think I'd wait much longer on these.

August 17, 2023 - This was an amazing bottle of wine. The 2017 Becklyn in my experience could be the best representation of this label to date. Lively dark berry anise, and some cedar essence. The fruit shows energy and vigor and the flavors are lively with the right acidity. After six years in the bottle, this wine has outperformed tonight.

March 3, 2023 - My last bottle. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and plum. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and decent depth/concentration. However, as it has matured it isn’t showing quite the same depth/concentration as the first couple years after its release. Nice rich flavors of cassis, some spice, cocoa, and plum. Fairly long finish. Slow ox for a couple hours and drank out of a decanter for a couple more. Not much improvement with time but at a nice drinking point. 100% cab.

November 12, 2022 - Opened and let sit in the cellar for about 4 hrs before serving. Fantastic wine. Black cherries, black plums, and violets on the nose. Velvety smooth mouthful, thick and chewy. Nice long fruit filled finish, tannins seemed resolved. I think of the 17s Napa Valley’s from Mike Smith, (recently have had the Myriad and Quivet) this may have been my favorite. This is a big wine, really enjoyable. Unfortunately, I only got the one glass (but I poured myself a big one!) I think it is in its prime drinking window for probably 4-5 more years.
