March 8, 2024 - A beautiful Angelus here that kept opening in the glass but it remains stubbornly young and in need of more time. The classic opulence of Angelus was showing through and the purity of the dark fruit was fabulous but it's simply not fully expressing itself yet. Clearly had a higher alcohol level on the nose and palate than the other '00's drunk alongside which is always the case with Angelus and why I sometime shy away from buying it especially at today's prices. 92+
December 25, 2023 - This is simply wonderful. While it’s a bit reserved on the nose, there is so much body here. Unctuous and classy. Very long finish. We put this up against a 1990 Las Cases, and the Las Cases won the battle. But it was an unfair comparison considering right vs left bank and big difference in age. But they paired very nicely together. Clearly a crowd pleaser and a real treat.
December 19, 2023 - Fantastic and drinking beautifully.
November 26, 2023 - Carnet. Nose a mix of tobacco, anise, black fruits. Smooth mouthfeel of tobacco, some black fruits. Absolutely delicious and one of the best of the year.
October 21, 2023 - One of my favorite wines. 1 hr decant and ready to go.
October 19, 2023 - M&PD Tasting: Argentinian Grill (Mount Baker, Seattle, WA): Deep, smoky, modern. Excellent acidity.
October 19, 2023 - M&PD at Goldbergs. P4. Still too young but will be epic wine. Already beautifully balanced but oak and fruit still strong. They collide against each other in finish.
September 19, 2023 - great nose; a bit tight to start; more savory and tobacco notes this time; cork tip breaks off again in the bottle;
September 10, 2023 - Decanted 1 hour.
August 20, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours and in glass 1 hour. Amazing nose (score based on nose) but still way too young. Has not yet come together. At least 5 more years before I revisit.
