Lovely bouquet and a very refined mousse. Possesses aromas of citrus, dried figs and a hint of honey. Body is a classic of acidity triumphing over fruits but leaving it alone for another 10 years will fix this problem!
Drink from 2026 to 6+ years from then. Could be a 92 - 93 once fully developed.

September 29, 2023 - 2008 Champagne - 25 top names tasted blind: Lovely nose here with lots of brioche but in terms of intensity and palate density a clear step below the Dom and CdC. Still, for the price a worthy showing.

July 15, 2023 - What a contrast to the NV Gossart. 2019 Disgorgement. Lovely nose showing rich nuttiness, dried fruit. Lively on the palate with solid acidity and very fine mousse; excellent density and richness. Beautiful right now.
June 27, 2023 - This is a wide opened, and absolutely fabulous, 2008. There is freshness from green apple peel and sweet apple slices, bracing mineral, with hard rock like perceptions. There is some spice and maybe a little broom straw perception, bread notes. Really nice.
June 9, 2023 - Dibbs's birthday celebration: Brought as an extra. Surprisingly approachable for a 2008, this is always one of the houses that give the most pleasure. Rich, creamy texture that made it a hedonistic and fun champagne, just as it should be.

January 13, 2023 - PnP, very shy still, crisp and rahter lean, some citrus, a bit of red apples, cinnamon spice. Feels very young. Hard to say what this will give once mature. My take is that while some 2008 are drinking fabulously (eg Dom, Rare, Taittinger CdC) others are still completely closed. This is in the later camp. Wait till 2028 with this. 92-93
December 30, 2022 - Still young and needed a bit of time to get going. Revealed citrus, pepper, minerality, some nuttiness, apple and soft fruits. Wonderful texture and opulent mousse. Mixed reviews here surprise me because this bottle was a belter. It needed significant time in the glass but really impressed.
