February 19, 2011 - I thought I bought a lot but it wasn't enough. My last bottle of two cases. Big smokey nose, still good fruit, good acidity and balanced. Went extremely well with my baked chicken!

January 31, 2011 - Earthy nose with tar and smoke, long finish for a relative value. Getting near the end of my 2 cases and it makes me sad!

September 5, 2010 - The wine has a fabulous nose dominated by tar and smokey fireplace laying atop bright cherry. On the palate, the fruit was rich and bright up front followed by a darker earthy stage and finished with clean acidity. The only drawback being a slightly bitter oak tannin that lingered on the finish.

    July 23, 2010 - V nice but light.
Red clean Pinot nose. White pepper start. Good acid. Red fruit zippty zip on the palate. Light-ish. Sort-medium finish. Tartish Loganberries at the finish, but thins in the end. Kent said it was “big and jammy” Well, to his palate, maybe..

September 19, 2008 - Delicious as always. Not as complex oddly as the first bottle, but tasty - maybe not as giving.

Wow, large and expressive nose, mushroom, earth, high-toned fruit impression...
Soft and sweet on the palate, great acid - while flashy this wine will age.

August 28, 2007 - Very good wine. Not as complex as the 2003 , but distinctive in its Pinot characteristics. The nose was ripe red fruit with earth, barnyard, ashtray and chocolate. The flavor was balanced and very drinkable with or without food.

April 27, 2007 - So Tom Hill reminded me I hadn't had any of Kent's Pinots since 02. Popped and poured...

    14.5% alc...

Let me start of the note by saying I am in for a 6-pack after this bottle...the nose wants to leap from the glass - super enthusiastic, spice, loads of earthy loamy notes, hay, tangy effervescent PN pure and true, red raspberries, white pepper, very floral...

Then we get to the palate. Now mind you, this wine retails for something near $30, and hands-down IMNSHO smashes the competition at 2x+ the price. All the richness you could have in Pinot without it ever morphing to another varietal or losing the brilliant acidity, cherry-raspberry fruit, loads of pure Pinot coolness, and a finish that goes on for over a minute. Long and delicious. And of course, Kent's impeccable ability to make a balanced wine in any vintage. Often overlooked, often forgotten about in my attempt to try the new kids on the block - much like Littorai, if I had to choose, this would be my house PN - in a landslide. Fun stuff. I hope all my recent 05's taste 1/2 this good. Find some, you'll love it.
