October 22, 2014 - Notes based on third and final day after opening. Initially it had a sharp, odd after taste but it dissipated quickly. Now, opaque red/purple in glass. Raspberry and underripe strawberry nose. Easy going in the mouth, light red fruit (more raspberry with a bit of plum undertone). Well balanced tannins, short to moderate finish. Went well with meatball, pepper, and mushroom stromboli. Solid table wine.

September 11, 2013 - nose: cranberry, red plum, brush, black pepper. a bit of mud.

palate: red fruit all around, and intensely spicy. not quite dry, but pretty well balanced nevertheless. crunchy tannins, beautiful fruity acidity. long searing finish of fruit salad with pepper.

distinctive, and the best damn bottle of cheap supermarket wine EVER

followup: on the second day it was tastier...on the third it exploded into a decadence of raisin and minerality. quite the best 6 bucks i ever spent!

May 29, 2013 - An official Air France in-flight wine. Probably not a bad choice pricewise for the airline, but travellers could definitely enjoy something better from the vast choice of French reds. Taste is inexpressive, blunt, no oak notes, generally watery and dull. Nothing outstanding. Maybe good for cooking and marinating, never tried though.

April 3, 2013 - cheers, if you like Rhone wines, which is the everyday wine for many French people, this wine represents an incredible value for the price. I prefer this over many $20 bottles out there.
