May 20, 2022 - Not much to add to Forceberries (again) precise tasting note.
We had more stonefruit (peaches and apricots) and also nice salinity.
    Overall good value here.

June 10, 2021 - Blind, yellow color, initial notes of butane were difficult to get by, seems like a big and bold, powerful white, no idea what this is. Lengthy lemony finish. Some green apples. Pretty tight and closed, could age 5 years.

November 20, 2020 - The organically farmed grapes are sourced from the villages of Akrotiri, Megalochori, Pyrgos and Vourvoulos. Fermented spontaneously, then aged in stainless steel tanks. 14% alcohol.

Youthful, pale lime-green color. Small bubbles start to form on the insides of the glass. The nose feels fresh and incisive with intense aromas of green apples and sharp citrus fruit notes of key lime, some cut grass, light primary notes of sour apple candies, a little bit of something waxy and a hint of stony or flinty minerality. The wine is concentrated, lively and very slightly spritzy on the palate with a moderately full body and ripe, slightly sweet-toned flavors of tart lemony citrus fruits, nectarine, some beeswax, a little bit of something slightly funky, light mineral notes of tangy salinity and a hint of flinty minerality. Despite its ripeness and rather full body, the wine never once comes across as big or heavy, thanks to the structured, racy acidity. There's lots of stuff here, but nothing in excess. The long, nuanced finish is ripe and sweet-toned with intense, focused flavors of juicy citrus fruits, some chalky bitterness, a little bit of tangy salinity, light notes of beeswax, a hint of tart Granny Smith apple and a touch of sweet nectarine.

It seems that even if Haridimos Hatzidakis is gone, his family and colleagues continue to produce wines of impeccable quality. Although just an entry-level white wine, this is a very impressive, focused and rather powerful take on Santorini Assyrtiko that is still very youthful and high-strung in style. Although not a wine to be cellared for extensive periods of time, it feels like this could use another 3-5 years before hitting its apex. Probably will keep for even longer. Easily among the best entry-level Assyrtikos of Santorini. Recommended.

September 4, 2020 - Wanted to like this more than I did. Didn't feel like it ever opened up. Nice, but not memorable for me.

August 11, 2020 - This wine is pale gold in color with a med(-) intensity of aroma. I smell steamed asparagus, yellow flowers, boxwood, crushed almonds, macadamia nuts, quince, and a hint of petrol. This wine is developing. The wine is dry, acidity is high, alcohol is high, med(+) body, and a long finish. The palate is composed of asparagus, lime juice, tomato (odd for a white), and quince. This wine is of a very good quality and can be drunk now, but is suitable for ageing.

April 25, 2020 - Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Opened for the Saturday night Friends Happy Hour Zoom. Agree with previous notes that this is a bit of a softer wine, but I also found that the slightly softer acids, let a refreshing salinity come forward, which was really noticeable on the finish. We drank this without the benefit of food, so found this very crushable and enjoyable - bottle disappeared quickly.

December 16, 2019 - A lightweight entry in the assyrtiko line ups, softer, lacks the palate depth and presence of the main bottlings. A nice wine but we stand by our view that this should have been used in a blend. 89

August 29, 2019 - A softer, rounder expression of the noble assyrtiko and in that for us lies the flaw in this otherwise very welcoming and well made wine.
It lacks the firmness the flinty, mineral focus and the big yet polished acidity that this noble grape possesses . It’s a good wine but maybe they should have made it more of a blend rather than trying to silence or even dum down the assyrtiko. 89

July 20, 2019 - Nesten klar. Sitrus, urter, mineraler. Samme i munn pluss litt karve. Frisk, litt grønn, ellers pen balanse, medium lang. Herlig syrenerve! 89
