March 9, 2020 - Method: Half-bottle, served cold (out of fridge) and enjoyed as it warmed up, out of white wine glass.

    Look: very pale straw(?)

Nose: a bit closed; stone fruit / peach, light ginger

Palate: ripe white peach, sharp ginger, salt, a bit of minerality; ginger and white flower on the medium+ length finish; medium+ body, with rich mouthfeel; medium+ sweetness; high- acid

Overall thoughts: Although it's drinking quite young, this is a great wine with big, pure fruit and ample complexity from spice and other notes. At this point, the sweetness is at the forefront and seems a bit higher than most Auslesen I drink, especially compared to the acid, which, while pretty high and sufficiently balanced, is more gentle / less electrifying than what I've experienced in other Auslesen from other recent vintages. While already great, I suspect that this will be even better down the road as the sweetness better integrates.

At this point, with the higher level of sweetness, I think this makes an especially good pairing for a fairly strong bleu cheese.

March 2, 2020 - Tasted at a trade tasting in NYC. Another delicious wine great balance of fruit, sugar and acidity. Bright fruity and moderately sweet. I went back and forth on which I liked better, this or the Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel. Hard choice. Both are beautiful and will age marvelously.

February 9, 2020 - Way too young of course - almost no detectable nose but the mouthfeel is amazing wow - just needs time
