January 19, 2015 - Starts off dark, brooding, spicy, and brambly, much like a good Syrah or Malbec. Still mostly closed after 30 minutes, but much promise lies within. After an hour this wine really gets going, though it retains a lot of its Syrah-like character: dark fruit, deep spice, a little peppery, but overall well-balanced and fun. Probably too expensive for what you get here, though.

October 4, 2009 - Fruity nose upon opening. Opened up to be a classic Cab. Slight fruit, nice tannins.

September 7, 2009 - I wholeheartedly agree with dspieker--of course I'm the Murphy he is talking about. This is one of my favorite Cabs. Nickel and Nickel make great cabernets and this is no exception--unfortunately, 2004 is the last and best year of their cab from the Match vineyard. Tannins are unnoticeable and it is smooth as silk. I will gladly purchase this wine from any cellar that has it--please let me know if you have any that you want to sell.

July 22, 2009 - Compliments of Patti and Murphy Klasing. Dark, rich plum color. Rich aromas of dark currant, black cherry and cinnamon. Rich and very well balanced with a light tingling sensation on a lingering finish. Titillating and orgasmic.

February 21, 2009 - Big and dusty. Definitely needs to decant. Would have rated higher but doesn't have a great finish.

January 14, 2008 - Pretty nice, best of the nickel and nickels I tasted that day. Balanced, with some fruit balanced by some other complexity.
