April 19, 2024 - Almost 4 years to the day since my last bottle and it’s changed. My last notes mentioned it’s just not ready and some rough edges
They have all gone. Initially it’s very soft, open and almost buttery with a lack of real energy and zip
This does tend to follow after an hour
Some oak, real grippy texture does still reside underneath - 91-92
    Good for the money

May 14, 2023 - Nose - somewhat understated but there’s green/yellow apple, pear. As it warms up there’s pineapple and some buttery notes.

Palate: Luscious, oily, rich. Buttery cinema popcorn. Bold fruit (apple, pear, pineapple) but balanced. Hefty, well-structured.

Long finish. Wonderfully rounded. Slight heat from the alcohol. Overall, very good quality and look forward to having again. 92 points.

April 30, 2023 - Such an attractive, rounded, sunny wine. A fair bit of oak flavour, texture from the lees, and concentrated, mineral, yellow fruit. Long and precise.

January 3, 2023 - Excellent wine. White stone fruit, super texture, structure and mouthfeel. Love this wine.

January 16, 2022 - Van Loggerenberg Trust Your Gut 2018 strikes a lovely balance between generousity and constrained elegance. Nectarine, apricot, honey, beezwax, floral notes, black tea, sapphron and cinnamon notes. Seems like a lot, non? However; the juicy and rich fruit is tightend up by fresh acidity, elegant minerality and some orange peel bitterness - keeping the wine balanced and exciting. Long, mineral- and spice-driven finish. Lovely now, but will hold up for at least 10 more years.
