December 31, 2019 - One of Italy's more interesting native white grapes. Good structure and high extract gives this one a chardonnay-like heft. Verdicchio is produced in two areas, Jesi and Matelica. This is the latter, and the you get a firmer, more aromatic wine from this region. Specific to this wine, we got a lemony, high acidity taste with a nutty undertone. Not sure, but this wine sees like it could handle longer cellaring than you have with most value-priced whites.
