Community Tasting Notes 3

June 26, 2022 - A very nice example of a Bordeaux at a reasonable price. Still a little young, but drinks very well. Fruity on the nose, complex palette with strong tannins, acidic on the finish. Will age very well.

December 2, 2021 - This is still good value, but not as good as the 2016. There are lively cherry flavors in the foreground, and lots of woody tannins in the background. The fruit doesn't seem robust enough for the treatment it received in the winery, and while the woodiness may seem less intrusive after another two years of cellaring, I'm not convinced that the wine will ever be fully integrated. Note, though, that I am suggesting some quite high standards for a wine that costs well under $20, and that the imperfect wine still provides plenty of drinking pleasure.

    August 27, 2021 - A 3 year old cru Bourgeois.
On nose: mesquite charcoal and dry floral notes.
On palate: more of the same....with fresh , firm tannins overlaying many of the notes found in my recent review of the 2009....but the oak is more prominent, after a 4 hour decant , a slight loosening up ....needs another 5 years....but will show well.
