August 12, 2015 - The last of three bottles. Wish I had more. We were given this one after "helping" with the '07 harvest. Drinking beautifully now.

May 3, 2013 - This one is almost as good as the 2007. Probably good for another few years. Definitely decant and filter

March 30, 2011 - The nose showed ripe strawberry with cedar and earth. On the palate, I found raspberry with tealeaf and wood tones. It was beautifully balanced with a gorgeous finish filled of red fruits and a hint of pepper.

November 28, 2010 - Loved this wine a couple of years ago. Hoping it's in a dumb phase right now or perhaps an off bottle. Very thin and vegetal.

October 10, 2010 - Aroma of cedar and cassis. Palate shows a classic, and well structured, Bordeaux profile of cassis, tobacco, and pencil lead. Medium finish. While not a profound wine, it's a well made one. And while it's not a bargain at $27, I would take it over virtually every Bordeaux selling for an equal or higher price.

December 22, 2009 - Very tight out of the bottle. Mellowed out after 2hrs, and was much more enjoyable. Definately in the French style. Fruit forward, with medium tannins.

December 28, 2008 - Enjoyable and drinking well now. Held for a couple of days. Also seems to show some potential. A little one-dimensional right now.

August 3, 2008 - This is 40% merlot, with the rest comprising of the other four Bordeaux varietals. Unusually fruit-driven for a Long Island red, this shows copious amounts of raspberry and blackberry fruit, framed by a peppery and herbal edge. While this is fruit driven, it is by no means sweet or fake, not that one would expect that at 12.5%. A middleweight --which paired brilliantly with beer-can chicken in truffle oil-- this is undergirded by some slightly rough tannin that might dissipate with another 6-12 months in bottle. That said, it is a wine that is very approachable --and enormously enjoyable-- right now, and there's little if any reason to hold off on these. At the winery, we were told the reason for the goofy name --as opposed to something more serious like "meritage"-- was intended to encourage early consumption rather than long cellaring, as they wanted this to be a wine for early enjoyment. They succeeded. 90.
