July 7, 2020 - The typical fruits and florals for this Gioia del Colle can be found in this vintage. Mature plum and blue berry are clearly there, yet the complexity of the aromatic, floral notes is less than in the previous 2 years. On the other hand I do find a touch more acidity and fine tannins. The apparent sweetness is somehow more sugary than what I noticed in 2013 and 2014. The palate is more focused and less broad, so still a great wine, but just a bit less so.
