March 15, 2024 - A lower score than I gave in September 2023. The wet straw/barnyard funk pretty strong on the nose and seems distracting to me. On the palate raspberries and strawberry with wood and dirt or woody flavors. Long finish, complex and layered. Maybe the whole stems coming through. I visited this winery a few years ago. Drank over four hours with homemade chili and later some chocolate.

November 1, 2023 - This wine is full bodied and, I am guessing, could still age 3-5 years more in the bottle before peaking. Buttery in texture and fruit forward for a Pinot with hints of big grape and floral notes. Lovely!

September 8, 2023 - Pours fresh pale ruby. On the nose we initially got damp straw and stewed strawberries and plums. As the wined opened up the damp straw/funk faded. On the palate we have a medium to light mouthful/body, cranberries, fresh raspberries and a slightly bitter vegetal finish. The finish is long. The wine is layered and complex. A well made Central Coast Pinot Noir that has a dusty Grand Cru Burgundian feel to it. I visited this vineyard in the fall of 2019. Enjoyed with my daughter and SIL (J&B), with cheeses and chocolate on a Friday night.

January 5, 2023 - šŸ‘ƒ Strawberry, damp cellar, meat broth, cinnamon
šŸ‘„ Medium acidity, med plus volume, more red berries, slightly herbal, tannins are still pronounced, the taste is big like the sunny American wines deliver, slight spice over time.
    Great bottle!

March 13, 2022 - Nose shows greenness/stems, smoke, strawberries. Lightly crunchy, medium+ acid; some oven spray cranberry juice here. Texture is where this shines with a rich creaminess that ends with medium+ acid. Great food wine.

January 31, 2022 - The wine is medium ruby with a pronounced nose of sour cherries, red plum, flowers, and a hint of roasted meat. Thereā€™s some minerality there also but not enough to broadcast ā€œold worldā€ (which I kind of expected based on the Somm III movie). Itā€™s has medium acidity and alcohol with medium intensity flavors of red fruit and a bit of licorice. The wine is medium bodied with a medium finish. Itā€™s very balanced and somewhat refined but not the mind-blower I was expecting. This is a very good wine but not at all outstanding.

July 12, 2021 - A bad bottle? Not sure. A little bit of brett which did not dissipate. Sweet aromas, then more savory after couple hours. Expected a bit more elegance, a bit more Burgundy. Guess I should have opened a Burgundy. Have enjoyed other DdlC more.

January 1, 2021 - Pure elegant Pinot Noir from the Central coast! Huge nose and light red look to it. Popped and poured. Developed nicely over dinner. Had lots of characteristics of old world Burgundy. First time to have this wine. Very pleased.
