September 14, 2022 - Started off bricky and amarone like, but quickly progressed into a beautiful, silky wine. Tasting notes similar to the previous notes. Drinking at peak.

August 5, 2022 - Almost 4yrs since I last tasted this wine, but still similar impressions to my last note.
Medium garnet. Same I tense nose, with mint, cedar, cassis, tobacco etc..
Light body, very fine light tannins, sweet cassis and red berries, cedar, mint, slightly herbal. Lacks a bit of intensity, due to the vinatge i guess, but compensate with great complexity and richness of flavours.
Great wine. Will keep the same score.

June 9, 2022 - Nose: black fruits, pepper, leather
Notes: I have continuous found old napa wines (namely from the 80s and early 90s) to be much more interesting than the late 90s and 00s. I am not sure if this is about age or whether it's the switch of wine making philosophy or the switch of consumer taste. Either way something from the 80s would very much be my preferred choice. We started drinking the 88 after 45 minutes of in the bottle breathing, it is a complex and well structured wine. I doubt if this will will get any better with more cellaring while 1988 was nothing but an ordinary year at Napa so it's time to drink up.
