October 22, 2022 - This has a dark colour, a perfumed nose and a rather more open palate than previously (6 April 2020), with a good weight of naturally sweet fruit and a positive finish. Very good and may still improve.

September 9, 2021 - This wine was delicious from barrel and delicious on release—then it fell asleep. There are no signs of age on the color; it seems to have put on weight in the bottle. With air, there are hints at a bright future, with dark and dry tannins, tart black cherry, baking spices (especially clove), and classic CdB steaminess. After a few hours a bit of blood orange peel and wild flowers emerge. Finish is long and acid is properly balanced. I have always been a fan of the stony minerality of this vineyard fruit; this bottle highlights it. I’ll bury remaining bottles and try to forget where they are located. Patience, lads and lasses.

April 6, 2020 - This has a fairly deep colour and quite ripe dark cherry and bramble fruit, medium weight and some tannin still on the finish. This may well improve as the tannin subsides. Perhaps I should keep my remaining bottle for a few years.

January 14, 2020 - Light to medium weight, well structured, even a little austere, with mature cherry/raspberry fruit, fresh acidity and a modest finish. This is keeping well.

October 2, 2019 - Two bottles of the 2005 was enjoyed at a dinner party so no detailed notes were taken. From memory, the wine has a fresh medium-to-dark ruby red color in the glass. It was smooth, well-rounded and beautifully balanced. There were no signs of age. Absolutely an excellent Burgundy Premier Cru, from an outstanding vintage, that's in prime condition and can go on for quite a few years to come.

    June 22, 2019 - Medium ruby-garnet.
Sour cherry and jammy strawberry on the nose.
High acid, medium tannin — despite it’s age it still has pretty strong structure, and could likely hold up for several more years. The palate is colored with an earthiness that runs throughout the medium red fruit and dried herb flavors. Impressive and likely still getting better.

    May 4, 2019 - 1/6, very good cork. Served at 13-14C.
Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale rim. Nose shows red cherry fruit, touch of liquorice and earth, medium bodied on palate, leanish with similar fruit profile, very fine tannins, puts on a touch of weight as it warms slightly, fresh acidity, gently spicy with a light creamy edge on the good length finish.

January 7, 2018 - Nice garnet color. Nose of cherry, stones, some spice. Palate of tart red cherry, some earth and minerals. Still tannic and has yet to develop significant secondary characteristics. Nice, simple red Burg.
