July 1, 2017 - Got this as part of a mystery case and had no idea what to expect. Touched the cork and it fell into the bottle. Decanted, not much sediment. Tasted a bit dank straight out of the bottle, but soon opened up, moving from raisins to dark fruits. Really delicious, a very pleasant surprise.

June 2, 2017 - Started with some funk on the nose, and a bit on the palate as well. Almost no fruit left and very earthy/dusty. Certainly past prime and nearing the point of non-drinkable. But for now it still has a decent enough flavor and a solid backbone. If you have any left, drink it now. Still have 1 left in storage...it'll be among the next boxes taken out.

December 6, 2015 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like cool/menthol, prune and lead pencil. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity. Seems just past it's prime.

October 2, 2014 - Ahh, Peter's Cuvee R. One of his ultra-great Syrah bottlings...and we still have 2 bottles of it in storage. Possibly starting to go past it's peak, but still wonderfully tasty. Dark fruit, tobacco notes, etc.

June 21, 2014 - This has been in my wine fridge for 6 years. I lost track of it, and just opened it now, not expecting much. What a surprise! Lots of sediment that we filtered out. Nose is subdued, tobacco. The palate shows great balance, gentle dark fruit, maybe blackberry, a little spice, a little mineral, and a little leather. A wonderful surprise, indeed!

October 31, 2012 - Dark ruby purple in the glass. Color does not cling. Soft leather, herbs, spicy dark fruit on the nose and echoed on the palate. Firm but pliant tannins with a juicy dark finish. Still some time on this, but a well-made drink now.

September 13, 2012 - No cork issues with this bottle. Still magnificent. Luscious herbal/pepper/smoke nose. Paired well with pork sirloin steaks.
