May 17, 2021 - ABV: 13.5%. Solid Viognier. Served it a little too cold, but was able to detect notes of stone fruits and honeysuckle with a hint of white pepper. Good mid-palate and lengthy finish. The fruit profiles became more prominent as it gradually warmed up, but this could use a few more years in the cellar for the acidity to integrate further. Note: Paired with oven-roasted salmon.

5/18/2021 - Raised the score by two points (from 92 to 94) after tasting it again on the second day. The fruits are more pronounced on the mid-palate and the acidity has integrated to create a more rounded mouthfeel. If you're planning to open this bottle within the next few years, I would recommend decanting it.

March 7, 2021 - Pale gold. On the nose, Jessie got an interesting aroma that she called "salami" to start, which Max couldn't pick up at all, but it dissipated after about 15 minutes. Max said the nose was quite light and indescribable, while Jessie got hints of stone/tropical fruit.

Moving to the palate, we get the most pleasant part of this wine, which was the texture. We rarely comment on texture, but this time, the smoothness really impressed Jessie. Really light and airy and pleasant on the tongue. Otherwise, the flavors were not so distinct; it was dry with high acid compared to J's expectation for viognier, with what seems like a malolactic note. The finish was long and tangy.

This continued to change with the air, and was better on day two, for the record.

December 16, 2020 - Pale lemon in colour with somewhat restrained aromas of floral/blossoms & wet gravel. On the palate, bold flavours of citrus/lime/lemon, unripe stone fruit, blossoms, chalky minerality with medium lively acidity that transitions into a long spicy finish ending in a slightly oily mouthfeel.
This is complex & interesting wine at a very reasonable price point.

February 4, 2020 - brief note, tiny pour

    N....not much at all

T.....serious wine, drier than I expected; real earthy character; long flavours, balancing acid, both a Foodie and Quaffer, feels ready. Drink up while fresh.

    Rec RP £17.00.....easily worth that.

November 17, 2019 - Retail $22. Viognier can be a tricky variety. Done well, it can be a delightful diversion from oaky Chardonnay, delivering some joyful spice along the way. Done poorly, it can be odd and disjointed, never quite figuring out what it wants to be. This is decidedly in the former camp. Light straw in the glass with white peach and citrus along with honeysuckle and hyacinth. The palate is well-balanced between fruit and acidity. Nice weight and finish. Lovely. thedrunkencyclist.com
