April 3, 2023 - 1 hour decant. So far my favorite Stoneridge Syrah from 2016. Really elegant, with big fruit but very silky texture. Flavors of black raspberry, oak, seaweed, tobacco, mineral and pepper. Outstanding wine, and drinking really well right now...far more approachable than the Royal City. Drink now - 2036.

December 17, 2022 - Quick decant. Rustic nose with barnyard elements, dark cherry, peppery notes, smoked meat, and hints of blackberry brandy. Black cherry, kirsch, dark chocolate, cocoa rides on a medium bodied plate with acidity that shows a red cherry fruit element. Sinewy tannins on the finish with bright cherry, loads of rocks, dusty earth… lingering long Balanced and outstanding and in a perfect place.

October 18, 2021 - The evolution of this wine was amazing. At open this was green olive, seaweed and blue fruit. As it settled down, the umami faded and tertiary notes of orange rind and red fruits started to emerge.

On day two this was red fruit, green olive and earth.

This started a 92-93 wine. By day two this was 97.

December 27, 2019 - K never disappoints and this is no exception. Color and texture are rich. Berry flavors with an earthy complexity (that stops short of barn yard). Long finish. Great wine.

October 23, 2019 - A cut above the same vintage 'Heart' and 'Skull', and likely to be the longest lived of the three. A luxurious amalgam of sweet berry fruit, earth and umami, and mind-bending range. Pure in all regards, fabulous tension and structure, enthralling finish. It delivers riveting pleasures now, which will improve with time. 95-96.
