    July 24, 2021 - Color: garnet
    Nose: cherry, forest floor, leather
    Taste: plum, blackberry,, leather, smoke
This has lots of fruit upfront but isn’t quite integrated with the other flavors of leather and anise.. they seem to be competing a bit. Cough syrup on the finish. I have one more bottle I’ll probably drink soon - not sure this will evolve any more.

September 6, 2020 - Took a long time to open up. Quite funky and green initially but settled down to be a reasonable wine. Quite a fruit driven wine with not a lot of complexity. Certainly not one for ageing as there was no secondary or tertiary structure to be found here. Quite a dark fruit nose and the body follows in the same veins. Drink now.

April 30, 2019 - Very good. A great example of an aged Barossa/Eden red blend now in full maturity, shame about the alcohol...

    WSET style tasting note
    Clear, medium, garnet
Clean, pronounced nose with Primary (Black cherries, blackberry, olive tapenade), Secondary (charred wood, smoke) and Tertiary (leather, forest floor, mushroom, tobacco) aromas.
Dry, medium acid, medium fine and fully resolved tannins, high alcohol (14.5%), medium (+) body, medium (+) flavour intensity of black plum, blackberries, olive tapenade, leather and mushroom. Medium (+) length.
A very good wine, which at 15 years of age is displaying a broad and complex array of aromas and flavours. The wine exhibits a fairly pronounced intensity (particularly on the nose), and benefits from a reasonably long length. I would however question the balance here, in particular the high alcohol, which has not softened along with the other components of the wine through age and is now far more noticeable than ideal.
Drink this now, it may well hold for a few years further, but will not improve.
    Screwcap.

November 15, 2018 - Chocolate and liquorice over tone. This wine is not a shrinking violet. Big fruity mouthfeel finish (merlot). Got better and better in glass. Needed decanting. Still very dark and intense in colour even though 14 years old.
