    January 22, 2024 - 92+.

Went through a 3-pack of these over the past year. Enjoyed each one. Re-buy.

100% Pinot from Verzenay. Mid-2022 disgorgement. 3yrs on the lees. 3g/l dosage.

The dark black wrap around the bottle certainly makes this stand out. Deep gold in the glass. Powerful red fruit (raspberries) but also some tropical fruit (guava), and a toasty flair aromatically. Big rich and round profile on the palate with a small yeasty/leesy vibe, spiced pear, caramel apple, truffle honeycomb and limestone.

Style wise, this is kind of a grower champagne version of Bollinger’s Special Cuvée (similar price point too). Great with garlic fries!

    October 9, 2023 - NV
    Color: Pale straw yellow
Aroma: Minerals, smoke, bread, unripe pear
Flavor: Apple, minerals, italian dinner roll

Personally I prefer more yeasty/oaked Champagne, but this is a very excellent classical representation.

July 24, 2023 - In a phrase: moderately restrained yellow herbal fruit backbone with a hint of wildflowers on the finish. I have been told by some that this is a good balance between Krug and more reductive microproducers. Have been told by others that this is an oxidative love child with those micro producers that are oxidative and those that are reductive. I would say that, on a whole, this one is right down the middle. The nose of this wine seems to indicate a sparkling that is going to be more oxidative. Pours with moderately big bubbles, yellow peach and Bartlett pear notes coming from the glass. The palate is more of an Asian pear and a white peach, seems to be definitely much more lean in character versus the nose. The middle of this one is where the herbal qualities gain, and a lot of white wildflowers integrate well with an Asian pear background. Finishes with white pepper wrapped around a youthful yellow fruit core. If I was lucky enough to have a case of this, I'd take the other 11 and age them for at least 5 years, then pull them one per year to see how they develop over the next decade. Iquared this one in mid 2022, so using that as a measuring stick I'd say you have a good 15 years from that point.

May 31, 2023 - Disgorged March 2022. Looks like it went into bottle in 2015, so wondering if this was 2014 base....not sure, and what if any reserve wines are in it. Believe this was Pinot Noir given its sourcing from Verzenay (and if I recall, also from Verzy). Raspberry, pear and some coil in the finish.

January 20, 2023 - Loved this. Amazing nose outshines the palate with white flowers, honey and orchard fruit. Fruity and refreshing on the palate but the finish stops short and is a little disappointing. Wondering if it will fill out with some air.
    Bottled 2015, disgorged 2022
