December 21, 2023 - Faint aromas of fresh bread. Moderate flavors of citrus, stone fruits, and bread. Medium body. Moderate complexity/finish. Fresh. Younger than I anticipated. Enjoyable now, with upside over the mid term. No rush.

    March 20, 2023 - Dégorgement Tardif

March 2, 2023 - Dinner at Iki Ramen (Iki Ramen, Los Angeles CA): Right away, I'm enjoying this much more than I did 15ish months ago. This was likely lost in a sea of similar wines then. Instead this bottle really stands tall on its own as it shows off complex and deep tones of toast, brioche, red apples, crisco, spiced pears, mint, herbs, kumquat, nutty notes, and some meyer lemon notes. The Medium bodied feel is well balanced and long with crisp, acidity that still has a little bite. This was a real beautiful Jacquesson. It was expressive and much more in line with what I would expect from these wines. There is certainly life ahead of it as the acidity could still use a bit more time to calm down and settle in, but the tones are really there and this is a truly enjoyable experience now.

October 13, 2022 - Starfruit, chalk, and citrus curd notes. Impressive mid-palate, resonant finish. Bright, focused, without overwhelming.

September 16, 2022 - Jacquesson 728-741 tasting. 2013 vintage, but no info on % reserve, or the blend. Jan 2018 Disg, and 2.5 g/l dosage. In a flight with 739 and 740. Right up there with the 740, maybe a step behind. Jacquesson style most apparent: lemon, candied ginger, sweet apple. Lovely minerality and acidity, nice mousse and bead. Yum.

March 13, 2022 - This wine is not in its drinking window right now so best to wait. However, with the right food, it can really be wonderful!

Quite a citrus nose with a good mousse, it is fresh and a breezy affair with hints of apples, pears with baked biscuits. Body was very steely that at the moment lacks depth and complexity. Had very good acid though which bodes well for the future. Beginning to develop a touch of brioche. Finish was balanced and quite refine but non-descriptive.

As a pre dinner drink, it was ok but nothing to get excited about. However, with scallops steamed with lemongrass, ginger, coriander and with an SE Asian dressing, boy did this champagne sing!

Drink in 5+ years but if you must, choose a food that could use some citrus and acidity to lift the food.
