August 12, 2023 - This bottle was definitely a tad better.

June 11, 2023 - This bottle was a pretty linear and primary showing. Purity of fruit is evident and refinement is also notable, but it is skimming the surface at the moment. Leave these alone for five years. Lemony yellow citrus goodness that is a bit strict is what one gets for now. A few hours of air didn’t change much here. DIAM 10.

October 17, 2022 - Good but perhaps a little underwhelming for what it was - perhaps more depth will come with age

October 21, 2021 - Jasper on Terroir: Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières (67 Pall Mall TV): The biggest owner of Folatières, with plots in the centre and the north. Not much new wood used.

Pretty, pale lemon colour. Attractive nose, fumy reduction, with yellow fruit and some rocky minerality, like a GG Riesling. Seamless and tasty, with quite a bite to the palate that provides a point of focus and interest to the backdrop of ripe fruit (even a touch of mango), sweet flowers and creamy oak. Approachable, delicious and refreshing - great first experience of this producer.

June 20, 2021 - This was a powerful showing, with some of its brawn really coming to the party early on (and staying for a while) before loosening-up its flex and allowing the yellow citrus and white stone elements to shine. It's a fiery P-M with an intensity that is wrestling with the finesse - not necessarily in a bad way; in fact, it made for quite an interesting education in evolving complexity. Still, the sum of its parts have not fully come together. But when they do, hold on to your hat, as there is serious promise coming for those patient enough to let this thing settle into itself.

Sealed with DIAM 10. So, take advantage of the confidence such a closure offers and sit on this wine for at least another 5-7 years. For those wanting a more delicate P-M, perhaps look elsewhere. For me, I like where it's headed. It just needs to continue "heading" to its destination, as it's just getting started on its journey to Xanadu - and not the Olivia Newton John Xanadu (awful), and not the literal Inner Mongol Kubla Khan city of Xanadu, but more the general metaphoric idyllicism of Xanadu - just for clarification :).

January 25, 2021 - One of the cleanest and most precision-honed 2018 Chardonnays I have tasted thus far from Cote de Beaune. Ultra-pure, but still managing to avoid over-refinement to the point that it would lack character. There is a beautifully balanced delivery here, with a whispered subterfuge of exotic pineapple and unripe mango notes just perceptible enough to add peekaboo interest to the otherwise core lemon and mineral notes. Finishes with a fresh and unadulterated exit of yellow citrus flavors. The overall energy is thoughtfully tethered so as not to pull away from the rhythm of delivery, making for a satisfyingly deliberate and measured mouthfeel.

93-95 points. I don’t necessarily find myself hoping for a tad more weight from a lot of these 2018 white Burgs, but in this case some time in-bottle stands to fill it out even more and provide greater depth. Sealed with DIAM 10, so I have confidence this will ultimately reach the higher end of my numeric with a handful of years under its belt.

August 30, 2020 - Plenty of matchstick in the nose here, a full bodied wine, sound fruit and plenty of minerals a layered, rich style, that keep one interested. This seems open, but I think one should wait for it still - a couple of years, at least, more to come. 93+
