January 16, 2022 - This bottle was better than the last. Still rich and fruity but it seemed better balanced with acidity. Some aged earthy notes and mostly resolved tannin.
June 22, 2020 - The vintage shows here. Rich and round, with lowish acidity. Easy drinking and not very interesting, honestly. Fruity, with just a little aged, earthy character. I generally like this producer, but you never know what you are going to find with the 97 vintage.
May 27, 2019 - Nose of currant and fig; intense, full, fairly fruitful still, good length and good finish, classic aged brunello but not especially remarkable
October 29, 2017 - Compared to the others, this showed a little alcohol on the nose along with some licorice. Black fruited, almost sweet. Some earthiness and leather. Shows the vintage somewhat, but no raisiny flavors. Pretty solid and as others have said, a good wine, but my least favorite if I had to rank them tonight.
April 22, 2017 - The good are the tertriary flavors of licorice, fennel, leather, and earth. The bad was the rather short depth and medium- body. A good wine, not a great wine.
March 15, 2017 - Almost a mineral nose, dark and earthy aromas. Dark chocolate on the palate. The acid line is a no show, until it blows out the back palate and finishes strong. Interesting dynamics. Rounder and sweeter. Firm tannin.
June 21, 2008 - Excellent example of a Brunello. Long on finish and well balanced
