August 26, 2021 - Very solid showing of this mostly mature Sassicaia. Notes of dried fruit (cherry), herbs, tobacco. Palate was midweight at this point, I think this vintage may not have the longevity of some other 90s SS's. Finish was medium+

November 14, 2020 - Drank from a Pristine bottle very nice in the beginning classic Bolgheri a little bit thin smooth tannins lovely indeed

February 24, 2020 - Tried again today, new bottle. Compared with the 1988 vintage. Tobacco comes out after an hour in the glass and it's even evident on the palate. This bottle faded faster and acid ended up at the front. Perhaps not as well kept as last nights bottle.

February 23, 2020 - A box of Marlboro’s red. Sousbois. Cherries. Fruit is okay but fading. Drinking well now if you like mature wines. Nothing geriatric about it

January 25, 2020 - A (mostly) Burgundy dinner (Cascina Spinasse, Seattle WA): Nose: The nose is well balanced, but fading slightly, with dark red cherries, cranberries, raspberries, roasted herbs, tobacco, leather, and black currants. There is good depth here but it doesn't come off as expressive as it likely once was.

Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with medium acidity and resolved, medium tannins. The structure is all but resolved at this point and the feel is elegant with dark red cherries, cranberries, raspberries, tobacco, leather, and black currants.

Overall: This feels like it's on the downslope. There is still a lovely wine here that is in a fully mature place.

(Sassicaia) This was pretty thin with an earthy/cherry nose. It got better aromatically developing a floral, earthy complex aroma. The palate never got going.
