April 13, 2024 - Three hours in the decanter and it was fantastic.
March 28, 2024 - Good quality red blend. Well constructed and drinking well in late March 2024.
February 25, 2024 - Beautiful levity, bramble, blackberry, pepper, minerality, floral accents. Powerful but not at all heavy, and leaning into the Syrah direction with its pepperiness.
February 19, 2024 - Decanted for 2 hours. Good mix of dark fruit, spices, and pepper. Depth continued to evolve - next time I'll give it more air.
February 9, 2024 - Nose of black cherry, black raspberry, wet leaves, and lots of spice. Rustic black raspberry palate with beef jerky, cherry, and a funky bitter note. Firm swath of tannins on the finish with black tea, tart cherry, slate, and forest floor and a bay leaf ending.
February 4, 2024 - Much better on day 2
January 21, 2024 - Going on memory, this wine has dark black and red fruit notes, low/med acidity and medium body. The tannins were fine grained. Drinking well now.
October 4, 2023 - Very good now but will probably really hit its stride in 5 years or so.
Nose has anise, candied strawberry, florals, vanilla, baking spice, pepper. This all carries nicely to the palate. Lots of tannin and acid. Long spice finish.
September 30, 2023 - Opened, poured and let sit about 40 min. Then: darkish fruit on the nose. Taste almost has a grenache tinge to it, although no grenache is listed in the blend. Definitely no typical zin taste, spice, etc, although zin is listed as the predominant grape. Medium/full bodied; darkish/reddish fruit; maybe a touch of warmth, but not a problem; tannins not a problem; decent balance. That grenache-like taste persists from entry to finish; not what I was expecting or looking for. Certainly drinkable, but disappointing.
August 24, 2023 - Lovely drop! Robust and intense spice aromas with dark fruit.
