November 12, 2022 - Undertones of kirsch are complimented by cedar and a slight meatiness. The meatiness follows through on the palate, where the last vestiges of red and blue fruit are fading but not gone yet. Tannins are almost fully resolved. Acidity is there but not as lively as it could be. An enjoyable wine that should be popped open now before it fades further.

September 16, 2020 - Bright deep garnet. Leather nose with a Red Hot candy whiff. Perfect balance, with acid, bitter fruit, and tannin taking turns; moderate alcohol brings a velvet mouthfeel. Long finish of bright cranberry and sour cherry, given weight by fine talcum dust. All seems exactly right here, but would like some complexity to join the correctness. Nice match with (distractingly salty) Wagyu picanha; last sip at following noon was the best yet, therefor the next bottle will get ample air.

April 26, 2019 - P&P, over 30 minutes- Dark Ruby red no bricking at the edges; subtle nose of stems and menthol- not the same but similar to Heitz Martha's 74 when young; black berries and dark plum fruits, very in balance with the end palate; soft tannins lead to a medium long rich finish. My last bottle, wish I had more.

August 4, 2017 - Needs a hour to properly blow off moldy funk and open. Deep purple with rust edges. Pronounced fruit...cherry core with plum and blueberries. Velvety and surprisingly young. No tannins to speak of and limited complexity.

April 2, 2014 - My have waited too long on this last bottle. Previous bottles were fantastic but seem to be going downhill now. Still a good wine but drink up now!
