May 3, 2020 - Cougar Crest recently had a sale on some library wines, and this looked like one of the best available. It turned out to be pretty good!
I first noticed the solid and clean red and black fruit. Along with the fruit was a nice savory note of bacon fat that thickened up the wine and helped coat all parts of my tongue.
If there was anything missing, I think the finish was somewhat simple. It would be great if there was some pepper, or crushed rock to balance out the bacon fat.
Because of that, I can't score this 90 plus points. Had I paid the original $50 retail, I'd feel like I'd overpaid. However, this well overdelivered on the $20 sale price.1 person found this helpful Comment -
