August 8, 2020 - 14% alcohol. Good cork (not that dense) with hard wax top; drilled through it with the corkscrew, then cleared the remnants of hard wax from the outside of the neck. Pretty dark colour, especially for Gamay, denoting highish extraction. The nose is immediately appealing with redcurrant in evidence. The mouth is both substantial and seductive, with darker fruit added; excellent acidity in the finish. A very successful Morgon in a relatively hefty style, and a repeat purchase (I forget where this sits in the hierarchy at Desvignes but judging by the hefty bottle it can't be close to the bottom).

December 21, 2019 - Purple blackberry and some florals, nice and slightly different nose! Juicy, grippy, nicely weighted with a lightness, raspberry, near-velvety textured tannins, good length too. Very good. Good VFM too
