June 9, 2021 - 'Farewell Alexandria' Lunch (Table, 8th Floor, The Pemberton, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong): Seriously dark burnt Demerara sugar colour but transparent. Gorgeous nose of burnt rubber, burnt brown sugar. Incredibly piercing acidity on the palate, so nutty, fresh grated nutmeg, very dry. Heady and resonant. Quite mind expanding. One glass is probably enough because it is very rich and concentrated. A special treat - thanks so much, David!

November 10, 2018 - This is one of those intense kindof old school sherry styles. Dry and oxidized and yet when you think >100 years old it doesn't quite make sense. The alcohol is still there and lends a bit of heat. Very interesting to get to try.

August 16, 2016 - Very dry sherry desert wine. Strong pipe tobacco nose and finish. Interesting for a 111 year old wine.

June 12, 2008 - A distinctive wine with briny, roasted notes that bordered on too much -- almost charcoal-like. Amazing texture. My least favorite of the three 1905's from Barquero.
