September 14, 2008 - Dense color with rich aromas of berries and chocolate. Full nectar with mild acidity and gentle tannins. Superb nose/palate followthrough exposing the chocolate covered berries with a hint of coffee. The finish is long exposing some acidity yet lacking in true flavor depth.

This is a dark, muscular malbec that will need some air to express its full complexity and cool a bit of its heat. On first taste, there are dark fruits in front, yielding in mid-palate to pepper, oak spice and tobacco mid-palate. The finish is deep and lingers, with rich oak and tobacco showing along with some spice and pepper. Again, this will need a few minutes. It's a full-bodied, chewy wine with considerable baby fat. I picked up a little coffee on the next taste. Big plum emerges in the nose after a few minutes, and on the palate everything smooths considerably. Oak sweetness becomes much more prominent. I expect American oak was used. This is a decent value for just under $20.

February 9, 2008 - Very deep dark color. Nose of blackberries, plums and leather. Full rich body with a good balance of rife spice fruit. Well made but needs more character.
Much better on the second day; it open up with more soft tannins. Quite enjoyable by itself.
