January 7, 2024 - This was quite lovely. Nose with lovely ripe plum, some black raspberry, and ripe cherry; floral with a hint of mineral, but right now mostly just pure and delicious fruit. The mineral tinge takes you back to Volnay and while there is some structure there it is well buffered; lovely and a long finish. High quality village stuff.

December 21, 2022 - Meaty and earthy base notes with a sour cherry and dark cherry fruit. Good intensity. Round mouthfeel with a solid acidic structure. An amazing wine in its price range. Consumed 5 consistent bottles during a lunch.

July 6, 2022 - Closed and disappointing at first. Much better after several days open, but still not so special. On the nose: elegant Volnay red and black fruit, but something a touch thin. On the palate: good acid, some medicinal herbs and red fruit, ok density and surprisingly burly and rustic tannic structure. Seems rather disjointed actually, and maybe this will improve with (a lot of) age, but right now just ok, even with loads of air.

June 21, 2022 - Musique & Vin Pre-Concert Dégustation (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Walk around tasting. Rich red and black cherry hold up to the wine's substantial structure. This wine typically outlasts normal expectations for Village wine, but in 2018 it will reward more patience than usual. Very good length with a nicely spiced finish.

November 5, 2021 - Oof, this is good. Perfumed, pretty, elegant nose opens up to very flavorful black cherry and toasted oak palate. Elegant and smooth.

September 11, 2021 - At Josh J's house for potential membership in Chevaliers du Tastevin. Wonderful aroma of red fruits and flowers. Racy, elegant and some tannins providing stuffing, this drank super well. Excited for the 1er's!

August 8, 2021 - Röda bär och jordgubbe, och viss kryddighet. Inte den mest mest komplexa röda bourgogne, men hävdar sig väl i sin viktklass. Bra pairing till den citronpasta med kyckling den serveras till.

June 14, 2021 - The word that comes to mind over and over is elegance. It's so wide-open right now; there is a beautiful and lush rose petal florality that encompasses the entire top band of the EQ spectrum. An underpinning of granite minerality begins to make itself known. Wet leaves intermingle with fresh cherries. It is one of the few restrained 2018 reds I've had thus far; the texture is already beautiful and silky, and the powdery tannins gird the structure just so.
