May 25, 2023 - This is a wine that has improved nicely over the past few years with some very nice secondary character coming forward. It pours medium purple in the glass. The nose show classic aromas of blackberry, blueberry, gravel, burlap, river rock and a touch of green tobacco leaf. The palate enters on deeply pitched fruit with medium tannin and medium acid, nothing is unfocused or gloopy, quite fresh and bright. The finish closes on blackberry and gravel, but shows a touch of an odd yeasty component.

October 13, 2022 - I remember gleefully flogging this in 2019/20. I should have kept a case. A beautiful spine can be smelled in it, especially now after it's been open 24 hours. Red currants, weeping their sweetness fluently. Dry earth leavened with mushrooms. Succulent, mouthwatering acidity—pointed precisely to a gliding vanishing point. Tested against model Chinon, and model Baudry Chinon, 2018 is a buxom vintage!—an eau de vie of bittersweet sour berries—and an expansive projection of identifiable character. Electrolytic. Spicy. Unfazed, roast core. Chewable freshness. Last bottle—I hope I forced a surplus of this on a lasting friend.

July 11, 2022 - The wine opened up with a slight brettiness on the nose, and transferred onto the palette; which also consisted of bell pepper, black pepper, red fruits, and finished with a yeasty character. I would peg the tannin and acid levels in the medium range. There was a fair amount of sediment in the bottle, so a decant was needed.

Overall, a fine Chinon for everyday drinking. 89 points.

June 14, 2022 - Very nice every-day Chinon. Floral nose with some sweet black fruit and spices. The balanced palate brings a nice core of juicy red and blue fruit with suave tannins on the finish. Drink soon, will be best 2022-2024. Technical score: 89. Enjoyment score: 91.

December 9, 2021 - Color was normal but tasted like apple cider vinegar and wet dog. Probably corked.
